In the second quarter 2011, the Praktiker Group experienced a decline in sales compared to the same prior-year period and
– despite further improvements in gross profit margin – it posted an operating loss.
Thanks to the InnoTrain CSR project, which was funded by the Leonardo da Vinci Project of the European Union, the CSR activity
of Praktiker became learning material. The international organization made films for vocational education and training on
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The performance of Praktiker AG deteriorated primarily due to the unfavorable economic environment and suspended operations
because of repositioning the brand in Germany.
Based on former plans Praktiker welcomes their customers from April, 2011 in a modern store, built in 2008, after the leasing
contract of the old one expired.
Praktiker has introduced the e-invoicing, and seeks to develop a modern relationship with each supplier. With the outgoing
invoices 70%, with the incoming ones 40% savings can be generated on producing and processing them.
Praktiker AG generated net consolidated sales of around 3.45 billion Euros in financial year 2010, 5.9 percent less than previous
year. Sales declined for various reasons in Germany and in the international business.
